Mick has been around SEO for a number of years. Initially it was accidental, a hobby. But a career in SEO was forged in 2011. Around 2007 Mick started to occasionally help friends fix problems with their sites and address what turned out to be problems with their SEO. This was all a part-time ‘fun learning experience’, while Mick worked as a software tester and senior software support engineer at SDL International. After a number of successes and redundancy Mick reviewed careers paths and decided the most enjoyable and rewarding path would be to commit to full-time SEO.

The very month the redundancy payments ran out along came the first real solid client. So Garner SEO was born in 2011 and hasn’t looked back since. Mick has been extremely fortunate that nearly all of the client base for Garner SEO has come directly from client recommendations.

Mick’s background has helped him develop very strong skills in technical troubleshooting as well as the ability to accurately interpret what a given site needs to sustainably succeed in Google.
